INNOVATIVE DEPLOYMENT SOLUTIONS
The project environment has evolved to demand reduced implementation timescales, requiring greater certainty during implementation, while allowing space for design optimisation. The choice of prefabricated deployment solution enables concurrency of effort reducing completion timescales, improving product quality, while simultaneously reducing the construction site security, health and waste risk profiles. TurnKey Modular's extensive experience offers diverse prefabricated deployment solutions, underpinned by technical innovation and a client centric focus.

CLIENTS
IMPROVED DEPLOYMENT TIMELINES
Implementation based on traditional practices is essentially a sequential process:
The design is required for handover to the main contractor for procurement and appointment of sub-contractors site access is required for construction to commence system installation provided by different sub-contractors requires controlled handover and hand back procedures to ensure construction responsibility traceability.
Implementation based on a prefabricated solution:
- One provider manages all aspects of the design, component procurement, fabrication, testing, transport, installation and handover, by increasing information flow efficiencies, fabrication can be done prior to acquiring site access.
- Complete controlled handover and hand back procedures eliminates the need for sub-system installations being handled in a sequential manner.
IMPROVED COST PREDICTABILITY
With most of the implementation effort displaced from the construction site when built in the factory environment, several cost benefits are realised:
- Single point accountability.
- A reputable solution provider possesses established engineering and fabrication processes, which provides for accurate costing based on the requirements prior to fabrication.
- The impact of the logistic supply chain to site is reduced as the supply chain of a reputable solution provider is already established, thus averting the risk of standing time on site due to unavailability of materials.
- The onboarding, travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses related to employees on site is significantly reduced.
- The cost impact associated with construction effort variability is minimised, as the shop floor is a more controlled implementation environment.
IMPROVED QUALITY
With most of the implementation effort displaced from the construction site when built in the factory environment, a higher quality end product is realised as:
- The material receipt stage, provides for the opportunity to verify material and geometric compliance with the design prior acceptance for fabrication.
- The premanufactured solution is predominantly based on an assembly philosophy, which is essentially self-jigging.
- Interface control and integration become the responsibility of the solution provider, which minimises re-work resulting from inadequate communications or changes.
- The fabrication location is generally more accessible compared to the construction site, which promotes more frequent inspections, by the fabricator’s own quality control inspectors, independent inspectors, as well as client personnel.
- Easy accessible support, tooling and an improved working environment enhances productivity and reducing oversight.
REDUCED CONSTRUCTION RISK PROFILE
A prefabricated solution reduces the construction risk profile through:
- Simplifying the supply chain logistics, thereby minimising potential impacts that could delay construction averting the risk of material and equipment theft and the associated impacts thereof.
- Reducing peak construction labour requirements, and the corresponding health and safety risks.
- Minimising the impact of weather during construction.
- Minimising access requirements for various sub-contractors to the same site area.
PREMANUFACURED SOLUTIONS
Offering long-term benefits:
- Various studies has indicated the overall implementation cost of the traditional and prefabricated solutions offer savings skewed towards prefabrication in the medium to long term.
- It is not as robust as traditional solutions.
- Prefabricated solutions can be engineered to comply with various requirements, be is static loads, dynamic loads (for instance seismic excitation) or impulse loads (for instance blasts).
- Require more maintenance.
- Just as for traditional solutions, maintenance required is inversely proportional to the capital expenditure, and site operating conditions. Accordingly provided that suitable corrosion protection measures are implemented (refer ISO 12944 standards), and mechanical damage on site is prevented, prefabricated solutions is not more maintenance intensive.
- Is mostly suitable for electrical and control installations.
